OKARA, Feb 28: The city police have registered a case against two constables who allegedly helped an undertrial man escape.

According to the police, constables Akhtar Hussain and Falak Sher, were taking Rashid, son of Hasan, to judicial lockup after the hearing of a murder case against the latter in the court of Deepalpur Additional District and Sessions Judge Malik Abdul Rashid, when the accused, who was supposed to be chained, escaped.

VILLAGERS’ DEMAND: Residents of 7/4-L have urged district Nazim Syed Sajjad Haider and DCO Khalid Masood Chaudhry to get the road to village graveyard vacated. The road had been occupied illegally by a locally influential person, they alleged.
