RAWALPINDI, Feb 26: Two burn victims, including a pregnant woman, died in the Rawalpindi General Hospital on Wednesday, hospital authorities said.

Saima Bibi, a resident of Dhoke Hafiz, was critically burnt when fire erupted in her house due to gas leakage. Her husband, Amir Husnain Syed, also suffered burn injuries while rescuing her. Both of them were shifted to the RGH where Saima died.

In another incident, Abida Perveen of Gujar Khan, who had set herself on fire on Saturday, died at the RGH on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, following a complaint of a woman that her son had been illegally detained by the New Town police, a bailiff raided the police station on Wednesday but failed to find him, a police source said.

After the bailiff failed to find the boy, the sessions court judge ordered the SHO of the police station to appear before the court on Thursday.
