LAHORE, Feb 26: The Punjab education department is working on a comprehensive programme to provide transport facility to students, especially girls.
The announcement was made by Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood while speaking at the annual sports day of the Government Ayesha Degree College, Ravi Road.
He also announced a grant of Rs500,000 to set up a laboratory and equipment for the college.
He said the government was committed to provide all possible facilities to educational institutions, especially women colleges. He added that the Punjab chief minister had also issued special instructions for allocation of more funds in the next fiscal year for educational institutions.
Mr Masood said the education department had reported that some colleges were neglected in the past for personal rivalries. From now onwards, he promised funds would be allocated on merit.
