KARACHI, Feb 25: The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, and other organization working for safeguarding the rights of the people, on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the reported remarks by Provincial Minister Manzoor Panhore in support of Karokari and Jirga.

In a meeting of the HRC, Sindh chapter, the participants said that members of the Sindh Assembly, who bear the responsibility of legislation and implementation, should not give such remarks without considering their consequences.

The participants also criticized the statement by the minister for encouraging holding of Jirga and hinting at giving it legal protection.—PPI
