Landmine kills four Iranians

QUETTA, Feb 23: Four Iranians were killed in a landmine explosion on Saturday near Mand at the border.

“The vehicle of Iranians was hit by a landmine in Iran, close

to the border, on Saturday evening,” sources confirmed on Sunday.

The Iranians were on their way to the border when the their pick-up blew up after hitting a landmine, sources said and added that the driver, Mohammad Khalid, had been identified.

“Mr Khalid was an Iranian,” Pakistani border officials said and added that the other victims were also Iranians but they could not be identified. They wanted to cross into Pakistan illegally, sources claimed.

The Iranian border authorities took the bodies into custody.
