Oil prices up

Published October 11, 2001

LONDON, Oct 10: The price of oil was slightly higher on Wednesday, as dealers factored in a recent fall in US stocks.

A barrel of Brent North Sea crude for November delivery ticked up to $22.10 from 21.88 at the close on Tuesday. New York light sweet crude futures were barely changed on Tuesday at $22.48 a barrel.

Dealers noted that US crude stocks contracted 3.42 million barrels to 304.25 million barrels in the first week in October, according to the American Petroleum Institute (API).
