New SZH chairman

Published February 20, 2003

LAHORE, Feb 19: The federal government has posted Prof Anwaar A Khan as new chairman of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore.

The post of the SZH chairman had been lying vacant since Nov 22 last year after the removal of ex-chairman Prof Muhammad Saeed.

Prof Khan is already serving as head of the department of gastroenterology of the Shaikh Zayed Hospital.

When contacted, Prof Anwaar said he had taken over the charge and would work hard to transform this institution into a greater institute.

He said the Sheikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Complex and the University of Health Sciences would cooperate with each other to promote postgraduate medical education.

He said the postgraduate training of doctors, nurses and technologists would be conducted by the UHS. The undergraduate training of nurses and medical technologists would continue at the existing hostels’ building. The existing campus would be expanded, he added.
