‘WB missions not put off’

ISLAMABAD, Feb 17: A World Bank spokesperson here has clarified that bank missions have not been put off, but said clearance is given only to “essential missions”.

Responding to a news items appearing in Dawn’s Saturday’s issue, the spokesperson said that “in keeping with UN security guidelines, the World Bank continues to exercise caution and as such all missions are required to get clearance from the country director. The country director considers these requests on a case-to-case basis and grants clearance to essential missions only.”
