KARACHI, Feb 15: The Dawood College of Engineering and Technology (DCET) intends to initiate the computer engineering technology course from the next academic year.

This was stated by principal of the institution, Dr Mohammad Salim Choudhry, on Saturday.

He said that the board of the DCET had already approved the introduction of computer engineering technology at the institution and the permission had been sought for the purpose from the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology with which the institution is affiliated these days.

Salim Choudhry said that the DCET was acquiring some 45 P-4 computers and tenders had already been floated for the purpose. The principal further stated that for the introduction of computer engineering no new seats would be added and the total number of seats at the Electronics Department, that is 370 at present, would be reduced, and thus seats would be created for the discipline of computer engineering.

He said the services of the faculty at the Electronics Department would be utilized, while some more would be hired in accordance with the requirements.

BACHELOR COURSES: The application forms for the Bachelor Degree Course in chemical, electronic, metallurgical, industrial engineering and architecture can be submitted up to Feb 20.
