SHEIKHUPURA, Feb 8: Four officials, including a chowkidar, of the Education Department were sacked, a notification issued on Saturday by the Punjab government said.

Sources in the department said that superintendents Bilal Ahmad Qamer, Muhammad Aslam and headmistress Sajida Perveen were involved in misusing their powers. They said the sacked officials had appointed several chowkidars by setting aside prescribed rules and regulations. An inquiry was conducted which found them guilty of charges. The appointment of Chowkidar Boota was also found bogus.
