TIMERGARA, Feb 7: Seven members of a family were burned to death on Thursday night when the house they were sleeping in in the Asbanr area (Lower Dir district), caught fire.

Police officials said that the house and the family belonged to one Gul Rehman of Loi Gandoa village; he was visiting a relative on the fateful night.

The victims have been identified as Mariam Bibi (Gul Rehman’s wife), Umarzadgai (sister-in-law) Jamila (niece), Manzoor Khan, Aftab Khan, Waqas and two-year-old Altaf.

Police said that none could be rescued from the burning house as it was situated at some distance from the neighbouring village. When the villagers got there they found charred bodies.

The Lower Dir District Nazim Alamzeb Khan and other officials also rushed to the scene of the tragedy.

The cause of the fire is not known yet, Ouch police said.
