HYDERABAD, Feb 7: Speakers at a condolence meeting, held in Jamshoro on Wednesday, paid tribute to the late scholar Dr Annemarie Schimmel.

The meeting was organized by the Institute of Sindhology and the Department of Sindhi, University of Sindh, at the Pir Hussamuddin Rashidi Auditorium.

Speaking at the meeting, vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui eulogized the services of Dr Schimmel in disseminating the message of Allama Iqbal and Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

He said due to her contribution in promoting the Sindhi culture and literature, Dr Schimmel would always be remembered.

He announced Dr Annemarie Schimmel Corner would be established in the Institute of Sindhology and her two books would also be published.
