ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso Friday said the caretaker government would not accept extension in its tenure at any cost and under any circumstances assuring holding of free, fair and impartial elections on May 11.

In his maiden televised address, he appealed to the nation to actively participate in the electoral process to bring the country on the path of progress and prosperity.

Prime Minister Khoso eulogised the political leaders and parties, saying it is a right of every Pakistani to express his opinion by exercising the right to vote and it will be their endeavour that a voter is able to cast vote according to free choice and freedom.

He said that the whole world is focusing on Pakistan’s general elections as observers from different countries are coming here and the nation would have to prove with their attitude that Pakistanis are a responsible, democratic and peace loving people.

Moreover, the premier informed that ministry of water and power has been instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply for 36 hours for May 11, the polling day.

He said that this particular instruction would help complete polling and counting of votes smoothly.

Citing the main reason behind the problem of loadshedding, PM Khoso said it is the gap between the supply and demand factor affecting the smooth power supply.

The caretaker PM said that he has instructed the ministry of finance to provide Rs45 billion for supply of furnace oil to the power generating plants, hoping this would provide relief to the masses.
