Kashmir Solidarity Day observed

ISLAMABAD, Feb 5: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and Pakistanis all over the world observed Solidarity Day on Wednesday to express support to Kashmiris struggling for their right to self-determination.

Walks, protest demonstrations, seminars and exhibitions were held in the country and Azad Kashmir to highlight the Kashmiris’ struggle and draw the attention of international community toward the urgency of need for settlement of the issue.

Political parties held demonstrations to highlight the issue.

At the rallies and seminars, the participants urged the world community to play its role in securing the right to self-determination for Kashmiris.—APP

HUMAN CHAINS: Hundreds of people formed human chains on Wednesday at six points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir to express solidarity with the Kashmiris fighting for independence from Indian subjugation, Our Staff Correspondent in Muzaffarabad adds.

The chains were formed by the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir on bridges on River Jhelum at Kohala, Tain Dhalkot, Azad Pattan, Holar and Mangla, besides the Brarkot village.

At Kohala, the chain was formed on the old bridge, where people held each others’ hands to put up a show of solidarity and affection with the Kashmiris.
