RAWALPINDI, Feb 5: The civilized world remains silent on the atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian troops in the occupied Kashmir, District Nazim Raja Tariq Kiani said here on Wednesday.

He was speaking at different functions held in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The district Nazim said these countries would have shaken heavens over the death of a white man, but martyrdom of thousands of young Muslim men in Kashmir did not hold any significance to the self-proclaimed standard-bearers of peace and human rights.

He said the Kashmir’s freedom struggle was indigenous and those who accused Pakistan of interference in held Kashmir actually belittled the Kashmiris’ passion for freedom.

Reiterating the moral support by people of Pakistan, the Nazim said the government and the people of Pakistan would do whatsoever possible for rousing world conscience on this issue.

Appreciating the enthusiasm of the participants of the Kashmir Day ceremonies, he said it was unambiguously clear to him that nothing could deter Kashmir from attaining freedom. He said the people of Kashmir should not feel alone in this hour of trial.

He said the message emanating from these rallies and functions was that Muslims in general and Pakistanis in particular could not remain aloof from the atrocities being committed on their Kashmiri brethren.

He said besides atrocities on the Kashmiris, people here condemned all sorts of excesses being committed against Muslims throughout the world.

Tehsil Nazim Raja Hamid Nawaz said the Kashmiris’ struggle was a historic reality and was infact a movement for completion of Pakistan. He said India had failed to subjugate Kashmiris’ desire for freedom despite using all possible resources.
