SIALKOT, Feb 4: Residents of the district are falling prey to different diseases as sale of sick animals’ meat was on the rise.

A number of people have complained to the high-ups of public health engineering department that the staff concerned were not taking action against the butchers selling meat of sick animals.

The district government had directed the staff concerned a few days ago to raid butchers’s shops to ensure sale of healthy meat at fixed rate, but no action has yet been taken.

People demanded of the district administration to take action against the butchers who were overcharging and selling sick animals’s meat.

INDIAN BID FOILED: The Pakistan army thwarted another major attempt by Indian forces to fence Sialkot working boundary’s Jammu and Zafarwal-Shakargarh-Narowal sectors on Tuesday.

Official sources said the Indians started fencing the working boundary early on Tuesday morning. The Pakistan army retaliated immediately and thwarted the Indian attempt besides causing heavy loss to the enemy.

It was the second major Indian attempt to fence the working boundary during the last two days.

Meanwhile, the Indian Border Security Forces continued on Tuesday firing on villages in Sialkot working boundary’s Chhumb Joriyaan, Bajwat, Chaprar, Jammu, Saamba, Sucheetgarh, Akhnoor and Zafarwal-Shakargarh-Narowal sectors.

According to official sources, some houses and empty cattle sheds were damaged.
