PESHAWAR, Nov 26: The Northern Alliance has deployed uniformed personnel on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Torkham border checkpoint.

The Northern Alliance has also replaced Taliban white flag with a tricolour flag black, green and white flag.

The orthodox Taliban militia had deployed black turbaned security guards on the border with Pakistan, after coming into power in 1996.

With the collapse of the ruling militia in Kabul, the new administration of the eastern Nangarhar province bordering Pakistan, has deployed uniformed personnel on the border, armed with AK-47 rifles.

The new setup also tightened security on the Torkham-Jalalabad highway and established checkpoints at various points.
