KARACHI: Overcharging by bank denied

Published February 5, 2003

KARACHI, Feb 4: The manager of the bank at the Board of Intermediate Education has said that his staff was charging bank commission from students as per agreement between the board and the bank.

Referring to claims of students as reported in the press on Jan 28 that the bank branch was charging Rs20 instead of Rs10, the bank official said that rate of commission was already on display outside the collection booth and as such there did not arise any question of overcharging.

It was stated that if anybody had any complaint, particularly during the last dates for submission of forms, he should contact the branch manager.
