SHIKARPUR, Feb 3: A local leader of the Jamiat Ulema-i- Pakistan-N, Mian Abdul Basit Pechuho, has expressed concern over the indifferent attitude of the government towards occurrence of tribal clashes, particularly in connection with the resolution of the Mahar-Jatoi dispute.

In a statement issued here on Monday, he said that the fresh tussle between the Mahar and Jatoi tribes had claimed the lives of 100 persons.

He urged the Sindh government to take immediate steps to put an end to tribal disputes, which led to destabilization of law and order situation in the district.

CONTRACTUAL EMPLOYEES: Leaders of the action committee of the Optical Fibre Telecom Foundation Contract/Daily Wages Employees have demanded of the higher authorities, including the president, the prime minister, the federal minister for communications and the chairman of the PTCL, to regularise the services of employees working for the past 10 years in accordance with the packages announced by the government in 1992 and 1998.

They also urged the PTCL authorities to pay them their dues owed to them for the past 12 months.
