PESHAWAR, Feb 2: A meeting on Friday devised a strategy for reconciliation of Wapda arrears.

NWFP chief secretary Shakeel Durrani, who presided over the meeting, directed the administrative secretaries to hold meetings with the Pesco (Peshawar Electricity Supply Company) authorities for reconciliation of the outstanding dues.

The district authorities were told to ensure payment of the arrears latest by Feb 7. The failure in payment will lead to disconnections. The chief secretary directed Wapda not to take away the meters of water supply schemes without permission of the respective Nazim.—APP
