SUKKUR, Feb 2: A meeting of the police was held in Kandhkot on Sunday to review law and order situation in Jacobabad district, with reference to safety of gas pipeline in the area.

The meeting was presided over by the DIG (operation), Syed Mushtaq Shah, who expressed concern over lawlessness in the area.

He urged the police officers, stationed in Kashmor, Bakhshapur, Risaldar and Tangwani to be more vigilant and set up more police check-points in the areas, from where gas pipeline passed.

Calling on the police authorities to stop the influx of criminals from Balochistan into Sindh, he said that no one should be allowed to enter Sindh without proving his identity and comprehensive search.

The DIG expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of SHOs of Bakhshapur and Tangwani police stations, Moha-mmad Sadiq Odho and Allah Dad Chandio, respectively, and decided to suspend them.

The meeting also reviewed security measures on the Sindh-Punjab border, with special reference of the police check-points.

The meeting also discussed the proposed operation against dacoits and decided to launch the same after receiving the go- ahead from the Sindh government.
