ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allotted as many as 235 plots to kutcha abadi dwellers under the Model Urban Shelter Project in Alipur Farash, said an official statement.

According to the statement, the CDA allotted the plots to residents of Muslim Colony, Dhoke Najo, Haq Bahu and Isa Nagri in accordance with the national policy for kutcha abadi dwellers announced on January 15, 2001.

Plots measuring 20 X 40 were given to only those applicants, who submitted their application forms with one advance instalment, it added.

The ceremony was presided over by the CDA director regional planning, Shafique Ali Siddiqui, while the former Sindh Kutcha Abadis Authority director general, Islamuddin Siddiqui, was also present on the occasion.

It was also announced that those dwellers, who had received application forms, could avail the opportunity by depositing one advance instalment.

The authority warned that if the residents of the kutcha abadis, which the government had planned to shift, failed to avail this opportunity, the government would not give them any relief.

It may also be recalled that the CDA under the instructions of the federal government had planned to shift the kutcha abadis out side the main city.
