SOUTH WAZIRISTAN, Jan 31: Political authorities of the South Waziristan Agency arrested eight members of a gang of kidnappers and two others, and recovered two vehicles, besides six Kalashnikovs, in a raid at a hotel here on Thursday night.

The raid was conducted on the orders of Political Agent Mian Nasimul Haq.

The Political Agent had received information about the presence of the gang in the hotel in the Rustam Bazaar, and constituted a raiding party.

The raiding party raided the hotel and rounded up eight criminals and recovered two vehicles and six Kalashnikovs from their possession, besides two burkas and two female Chaddors, used in the kidnapping, were also seized.

Hotel owner Maizullah Machikhel and another man, Sher Khan Eshangi, were also arrested as they had denied the presence of any criminals in the hotel.

Those arrested have been identified as Mohammad Siddiq Mahsud Shamankhel, Sarfraz Mahsud Abdallai, Mohammad Ali Miami Kabalkhel Wazir, Khair Mohammad, Madrali Khan, Inayatullah, Azizullah and Noorzada.
