SIALKOT, April 14: The PPP has given three National Assembly seats out of total five and four provincial assembly seats out of 11 in the Sialkot district to the PML-Q in an effort to give a tough time to the PML-N in the upcoming general election.

The PPP, under the seat adjustment formula with the PML-Q, has kept two NA and seven PA seats in its hand and assured the PML-Q leadership that its candidates will be extended full support.

PPP’s Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan will contest elections against PML-N’s Chaudhry Armughan Subhani on NA-111, Bajwat (Sialkot-II).

Dr Firdous had defeated PML-Q’s stalwart Chaudhry Ameer Husain and PML-N’s Idrees Ahmed Bajwa in the 2008 general election.

The PPP’s provincial leadership has put the party ticket for NA-110 (Sialkot-I) seat at the disposal of Dr Firdous. In NA-112 (Sambrial) constituency, the PPP has assured its full support to PML-Q district president Muhammad Saleem Baryar, the elder brother of former MPA Chaudhry Ansar Iqbal Baryar who had lost the 2008 elections.

PPP candidate Chaudhry Ejaz Ahmed Cheema will withdraw his nomination papers in favour of Saleem Baryar.

In the 2008 general election, PML-N’s Rana Abdul Sattar had defeated PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain with a big margin in NA-112 constituency.

In NA-113 (Daska) constituency, PPP candidate Dr Zaheerul Hassan Rizvi will withdraw his nomination papers in favour of PML-Q’s Ali Asjad Malhi, the former state minister.

PML-N candidate Sahibzada Syed Murtaza Ameen had defeated PML-Q’s Ali Asjad Malhi and PPP’s Dr Zaheerul Hassan Rizvi on this seat in the 2008 general elections.

In NA-114 (Pasrur) constituency, the PPP will support PML-Q candidate Chaudhry Maqsud Ahmed Sulehriya while PPP candidate Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas has announced withdrawing his papers on this seat.

In 2008 general election, PML-N’s Zahid Hamid had defeated PML-Q’s Chaudhry Abdul Sattar Variyo and PPP’s Chaudhry Ghulam Abbas in this constituency.

The PPP will fully support PML-Q candidates Bilal Mustafa Sherazi in PP-127 (Pasrur) constituency, former MPA Bao Muhammad Rizwan in PP-128 (Satrah) constituency, Asad Hafeez Goraya in PP-129 (Daska) constituency and former MPA Chaudhry Azeem Noori Ghuman in PP-131 (Sambrial) constituency.
