Rs2m looted at gunpoint

ATTOCK, Jan 30: Three armed persons robbed a man of Rs2 million at gun point near Nomipur village.

Chaudhry Allah Ditta, a resident of Gujrat filed a complaint with Attock police saying that he and his friend were in Attock to purchase a car when they met Mehboob Alam and Mujeebur Rehman, who sent them to Hattian GT Road.

Meanwhile, Mehboob Alam, Zubair and Mujeeb also reached there and forcibly drove them to Hazro near Nomipur village at a deserted place. Alam and others held them at gun point and snatched Rs2 million from them and fled away, the complainant said.

The Hazro police have registered a case against the accused under Section 382 of the CrPC.

DRUG PUSHERS HELD: Police on Thursday arrested four drug pushers, including two women, and seized 71.5 kilograms of charas and a 30-bore pistol from their possession near Kund.

The police said, when a car (LOK-7021) coming from Peshawar was signalled to stop at Mullah Mansoor, the driver drove away. However, the police managed to stop the car after a brief chase near Kund, but the driver managed to escape.

The police recovered 61 kg of charas from the car.

Meanwhile, the police on routine checking at Mullah Mansoor check post also seized 5.5 kg of charas from the possession of Benazir and Tawheedi. About 500 grams of charas was also seized from the possession of Mukhtiar Ahmed and a 30-bore pistol from Musa Khan.—APP
