Villager injured by Indian firing

SIALKOT, Jan 30: A man sustained serious injuries by Indian firing on Umranwali village in Charwa sector along Sialkot working boundary on Thursday.

According to official sources, Muhammad Bashir, 36, was standing outside his house when the bullets fired by Indian soldiers hit him. He was admitted to the Sialkot CMH where his condition was stated to be critical.

The Indian forces continued firing with light and heavy guns in Chhumb Joriyaan, Bajragarhi, Jammu and Zafarwal-Shakargarh-Narowal sectors, killing three cattle and damaging a cattle-shed.

Official sources said the Pakistani security forces responded instantly and effectively, causing heavy loss to the enemy.

ROBBERIES: Robbers looted gold ornaments, cash, electronics, motorcycles and other valuables worth Rs1.5 million from different areas of the district.

Four gunmen entered the house of widow Rashida in Bijlighar locality in the city and escaped with gold ornaments, cash, electronics and other valuables worth Rs500,000.

Four robbers took away Rs71,000 in cash, Saudi riyals 15,000, gold ornaments, electronics and other valuables worth Rs500,000 from the house of Haji Afzal in Kotli Bhaggo, Motra. Afzal has been working in Saudi Arabia and is on leave these days.

In Daska city, four gunmen snatched Rs6,000 in cash at gunpoint from a fertilizer dealer, Abdul Hamid.

Five gunmen deprived Uggoki union council Nazim’s brother Khalid of his motorcycle (ST-8754) in Chahaar village.

Six dacoits stormed into the poultry farm of Abdul Qudoos near Badiana police station, locked all the employees and guards in a room and took away 80 bags of poultry feed, 40 cartons of eggs, 400 hens, electrical appliances and two goats.

Unidentified gunmen set up a picket in the Dhilam Pulli area in Badiana and deprived 25 passers-by of cash, gold ornaments, wrist watches and other valuables worth around Rs150,000.

Six dacoits shot and injured a woman in Jassuran village, Badiana, of Pasrur tehsil, when she resisted their bid to loot her house. However, the dacoits escaped with gold jewellery, cash, electronics and other valuables worth Rs250,000.
