TOBA TEK SINGH, April 1: PPP former federal minister Khalid Ahmad Kharal quit the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and joined the PML-N on Monday.

Addressing a press conference along with PML-N candidate for NA-94 and ex-federal minister Chaudhry Asadur Rehman at his residence at Kamalia, he said the PTI leadership was not serious about taking decisions on award of tickets to its candidates.

He said he had applied for a PTI ticket for his NA-94 constituency but when he knew that the party leadership had been delaying the decision without any reason, he did not file his nomination papers and he and his son Haider Khan Kharal would not contest the coming election.

Kharal said he joined PML-N unconditionally and announced his support to its ticket holder Asadur Rehman.

Asadur Rehman's nephew and legal adviser to Sharif brothers Mustafa Ramday has welcomed the decision of Mr Kharal.

Meanwhile, district PML-N Senior Vice-President Nazirur Rehman and Rajana chapter President Mehr Rashid Sadiq have announced quitting PML-N in protest against issuance of ticket for PP 87 (Rajana) to ex-MPA Sardar Ayub Gadhi.

They told reporters that they had apprised party leadership that in his five-year term as MPA Ayub Gadhi ignored party activists and he should not be given ticket. And now they had no option except to quit the party.

NOMINATIONS: According to the final list of candidates issued on Monday by district returning officer Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad, 240 aspirants filed their nomination papers for three national and seven provincial assembly seats of the district.

For three NA seats, 63 submitted their candidature. For seven PP seats, 177 aspirants filed nominations.

HOARDINGS: Civil judge with powers as district election monitoring officer Afzaal Saqib Khandoya inspected on Monday election offices of ex-MNA Junaid Anwar, Chaudhry Ashfaq and ex-MPA Neelum Jabbar on Monday.

He got removed all boards installed by the candidates in violation of election rules.
