LAHORE, March 27: Veteran journalist Najam Sethi is the ninth Old Ravian to become the chief minister of Punjab, Government College University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khaleequr Rahman said in his message of good wishes to Sethi who took oath as caretaker chief executive of the province on Wednesday.
According to the available information, the VC said first Punjab chief minister Nawab Iftikhar Mamdot was an alumni of the Government College Lahore and he was followed by Mian Mumtaz Daultana, Malik Feroze Khan Noon, Malik Khuda Bakhsh Bucha, Hanif Ramay, Nawaz Sharif, Dost Muhammad Khosa and Shahbaz Sharif.
Prof Rahman said GCU students and Old Ravians were pleased with the selection of an Old Ravian who maintained his repute as an impartial man. He said Sethi was the ‘best choice’ in the prevailing situation.
The Old Ravians Union has congratulated Sethi and expressed the hope that he will take initiatives for betterment of his alma mater.
