Hissam slams four goals

LAHORE, Jan 26: Four goals by Hissam Ali Hyder and a three and a half goal handicap enabled EPCOT to defeat EPCOT Shoes 7 1/2-5 to clinch the Himont Chemicals Punjab Cup polo on Sunday.

Pablo Bagnardi, struggled hard for the losers scoring four goals, including a hat trick, but all in vain.

Hissam, extended EPCOT’s lead 4 1/2-0 scoring the only goal of the first chukker on a field attempt.

EPCOT Shoes, scored two goals in the second chukker when Pablo scored his first and Sufi Munir added another. Hissam struck his second goal for the winners to keep the lead 5 1/2-2.

The third chukker ended with only a single goal by Hissam who slammed in his third making it 6 1/2-2 for EPCOT.

Pablo, went on to score his hat trick in the fourth chukker which reduced the margin to 6 1/2-5. But Hissam netted his fourth goal to complete the tally.

Earlier, three goals by Khurshid helped Remounts beat Sunday TV 7-1 to come in third position. Isfandyar Patudi and Ahmad Khan score two goals each.

For Sunday TV, the consolation goal came through Faaiz Rahim Khan.
