Athletics camp

LAHORE, Jan 26: Fifty-five men and 27 women have been selected to attend the national athletics camp for finalising Pakistan squad for the ninth SAF Games to be held in Islamabad from March 29 to April 7.

Pakistan Amateurs Athletics Federation (PAAF) secretary, Khalid Mahmood, told Dawn on Sunday that the athletes were selected on the basis of their performance in the 37th National Athletics Championship held recently.

The training camp starts from Saturday.

The ranking meet, also a trial for selection of the national men and women teams, would be held in Islamabad on Feb 25 and 26, Khalid added.

The men probables are to be selected in 19 events and women in 13 events.
