PESHAWAR: Authorities on Sunday finalised and approved the polling plan for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the tribal areas and issued a list of polling stations for the IDPS where they can cast their votes during the upcoming general elections.

The Home Department Khyber Pakhtunkhawa says that a high level meeting was chaired by the chief secretary and attended by the home secretary, IG Police, all political agents of the tribal areas and chief election commissioner’s representatives.

Election Commissioner KPK Sono Khan Baloch and other stake holders approved the voting procedure and identified six different locations where the IDPS could cast their votes.

Section Officer Home Department Qamar Ali speaking to Dawn.com confirmed that the IDPS living in the Jalozai camp would cast their votes in the camp once the segregated lists are prepared.

“The IDPS from Khyber Agency will be voting for their candidates at Shah Kas, form Orakzai Agency in Hangu and from South Waziristan Agency at Tank and Dera Ismail Khan,” Ali said.

“In case of South Waziristan Agency, the CEC has ordered for preparation of a segregated list in three days and if the list could not be prepared, the South Waziristan IDPS would be casting their votes in Tank only,” he said.
