GUJRAT, Jan 24: A sub-inspector and two assistant sub-inspectors of Saddar police station were demoted on the charge of negligence.

DPO Raja Munawar had conducted a surprise visit to Saddar police station to check the working of police officers.

It may be mentioned that Range DIG Malik Muhammad Iqbal had directed the division police to launch a campaign against the absconding proclaimed offenders from Jan 1 to March 31. When the DPO asked SI Abdul Hameed and ASIs Tufail and Younas about their progress, they said they were not known exactly how many POs of their area were at large.

DPO Raja Munawar told newsmen that three new police pickets had been set up in Bolani, Thala and Sheikhpur. He said these pickets were strengthened with official vehicles and elite force contingents to check the crime ratio in the area.
