Glory for Mamoon and Imran

KARACHI, Jan 22: Mamoon Sadiq and Imran Iftikhar won both the opening two races in 470 class in selection trials for “Sail the Gulf-2003” which commenced Wednesday at Pakistan Navy Aquatics Club near Oyster Rocks here.

Muhammad Riaz with Akram Tariq finished second in both races in the best of seven races series with a total six penalty points.

In the Laser class total of 12 boats came on line. Muhammad Yousuf of PAF won both the races with a comfortable margin and with ease.

In the first race second position was taken by Malzhar of Pak Army whereas PO Ashfaq Iqbal was third.

In the 2nd Race Muhammad Yousuf once again won the race whereas second place was taken by Ashfaq Iqbal and Suleman Anjum finished third overall all position in Laser Class.

The race number three and four will be held on Thursday.—APP
