I appreciate Dawn arranging such interviews and Asma Jahangir for her courage to speak on such dangerous issues. But it takes more than talks. It is time to to do something concrete about it. Talking to talk and not doing any thing concrete, is just useless. Would people like Asma have the courage and will to come on the road for this real issue of Pakistan? If not why not? "Khoon fishaani bhee hai laazim ashk afshaani kay saath" (it takes true sacrifices with what we cry about) If the lawyers of the right can serve the interests of their legal/religious masters of Pakistan and make heroes of murderers/terrorists by force, why the lawyers and human rights activists of the left can do the same with peaceful agitations/dharnas. How many liberals lawyers and activists ever came on road against blasphemy laws and mass killings of minorities? Ragon mein daurtay phirnay kay hum naheen qail, jo aankh he say na tapkaa to phir lahoo kyaa hai" (talking all over is useless unless it is proved practically) The only way to get rid of such inhuman laws and religious/terrorism/extremism from our society is that all the victims of such laws regardless of their different faith and believes get united with the help of local and international human rights organizations and international court of justice and demonstrate their combined strength to send a strong message to those culprits who benefit from such laws. We should take a lead and learn from Bangldesh's court rulings against religious extremists. If 1953's Supreme Court's ruling was implemented truly, Pakistan would have been a tolerant, peaceful and civilized society today. Just going verbal after small groups of terrorists like Jahngvi etc and not exposing and sparing their masters religious parties behind their crimes is like talking about symptoms and not treating the disease. zafarsyed40@yahoo.com

Crumbling Pakistan?s economy, Health care, Food insecurity total breakdown of Law and Order. Let us wait and see what the Gawadar deep sea port fetches for Pakistan.
