Girl commits suicide

HARIPUR, Jan 22: A teenaged girl committed suicide in village Kehyan, about 22km from here on Wednesday.

According police, Anwer Jan, wife of Noor Muhammad, reported that she had gone outside to collect firewood at around 10am, leaving her daughter Farzana Bibi, 17, alone at home. When she returned, she found Farzana’s room locked from inside.

When the door was opened Farzana was found lying in a pool of blood. Anwer Jan suspects she committed suicide. The reason could not be ascertained.—Correspondent
