KARACHI, Jan 22: The meteorological department has forecast that, on the consideration of the global available data, there is 80% chance that winter rainfall from January to March 2003 will be about 20 to 30% below normal.

It may be noted that the normal rainfall for the above period for Pakistan is 74.9 m.m.

The department has forecast fair/partly cloudy weather with cool night in Karachi on Thursday. The minimum temperature in the city is expected between 13 to 15 degrees.

Cold and dry weather is likely to prevail over the region except the Queta and Kalat divisions where light rain is likely to occur at one or two places.—PPI
