LAHORE, Feb 21: The City District Government of Lahore (CGDL) administrator appointed on Thursday Executive District Officer of education Pervaiz Akhtar as inquiry officer to probe into a school fire in Shahdara.

The inquiry will be finalized in three days.

CGDL Administrator Noorul Amin said he had also got a criminal case registered against the school administration for not adopting safety measures, says a press release.

The CGDL also sealed the school building, directing the officials to make alternate arrangements for children.

Mr Mengal inquired after the health of injured children and teachers at the Mayo Hospital and asked the hospital administration to ensure best medical facilities to them. He directed the Data Ganj Bakhsh Town municipal officer to provide food and guidance to the parents/guardians visiting the infirmary.

survey: Executive District Officer (Education) Pervaiz Akhtar has said the department will hold a survey of all registered and non-registered private schools in Lahore from March 1.

Mr Akhtar has stated that a check-list will be prepared according to norms and terms and all the private schools, which will not be meeting the criteria, will be sealed and their registration will be cancelled.

The EDO assigned deputy DEOs (male and female) duties as focal persons in their respective towns for holding of the survey.
