HANGU, Jan 21: The deputy speaker of the NWFP Assembly, Ikramullah Shahid, has said that the MMA government will soon enforce a true Islamic system in the province and introduce reforms in the light of Shariat.

He was speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly- elected office bearers of the press club here on Tuesday.

Mr Shahid ruled out differences between the provincial and district governments, saying that the ruling alliance would make positive changes in the law and enforce Shariat to fulfil its electoral agenda.

He said that the landslide victory of the religious parties’ alliance was a result of the atrocities committed on the Muslim brethren in Kashmir, Afghanistan, Palestine and elsewhere in the world. The alliance was designed to uphold the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country .—Correspondent
