Success for Mazhar IV

KARACHI, Jan 20: Mazhar IV with 83 Victory Points (VP) grabbed the Swiss Movement week-end bridge on Sunday.

Mazhar IV having the services of Mazhar Ali Khan, Shoaib Khan, Tariq Rasheed, Mohsin Chandna and Tehsin Gheewala emerged top.

Mazhar IV first saw Mushtaq and outplayed them 24-6. Next came Chandna who also went fighting down with 19-11.

In the third round Mazhar faced Puris and further consolidated their position adding 20-10 to their score and won with the same margin in the last round against Mahmood IV. Mazhar scored 83 for the top berth.

Earlier the pairs event Red house, Mazhar Ali Khan- Shoaib Khan outpointed their opponents with the score of 60.59 percent, followed closely by Mohammed Zubair-Yousuf Suleman pair 59.50 and Shahab Khan and Zahid Mohiuddin 57-80 percent.

In the other house, Iqbal Zahid-Rashid Lodhi socred 59.46 percent for the top slot.—APP
