THIS is with reference to the letter by Asghar Mahmood concerning the appointment in the Ombudsman’s Secretariat (Feb 10).

While I appreciate his concern for transparency, I would like to inform him that all appointments made so far have been posted on the official website of the Ombudsman and have been available for the information of the public since Feb 8.

The selections were made in a transparent manner by a high-powered committee comprising the federal tax ombudsman (chairman), cabinet secretary, establishment secretary, finance secretary and secretary to the Wafaqi Mohtasib.
