ATTOCK, Feb 14: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Thursday inaugurated work on the 17-km portion of Hattian-Jhanian road.
He also opened the newly-constructed blocks and a dialysis centre at the tehsil headquarters hospital of Hazro. The projects have been completed at a cost of Rs96 million.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the Punjab government had launched a large number of development projects in different sectors.
He said Daanish schools were providing best educational facilities in 16 backward districts, including Attock. He said poor and needy children who were roaming in the streets are now getting latest and modern education in these schools.
The chief minister said during the last five years, 30,000 green tractors had been distributed among farmers. Besides provision of laptops and solar power units to brilliant students, shelterless people were provided homes under Aashiana scheme.
Moreover the Punjab government has introduced many public-friendly projects and initiatives besides upgradation of hospitals and construction of roads and other infrastructures to ensure prosperity in the province. Recently metro bus service has been launched in Lahore to facilitate the people.
He said if people gave another opportunity to the PML-N, all resources would be diverted towards the development of backward areas.
Mr Sharif said people should reject looters of public money in the coming general elections and elect honest and devoted leadership.
He promised that if people gave the PML-N another opportunity, the issue of loadshedding would be eradicated within two years.
Earlier, local MPA Shujah Khanzada in his welcome address thanked the chief minister for allocating sufficient funds to ensure provision of basic facilities to the citizens.
He demanded establishment of a university at Haro.
