PESHAWAR, Jan 20: Excise and taxation minister Asif Iqbal Daudzai has said that the government will try its best to provide basic amenities to the people.

He was speaking at a ceremony held in connection with the distribution of sewing machines and welding kits at Mera Kachori.

The minister said that the government was mobilizing all available resources to serve the poor masses and improve their living standard, and to achieve .

Mr Daudzai said that creating job opportunities for the people was the prime responsibility of the government.

However, he said that the role of NGOs could not be over ruled. He appreciated the role of those organizations which were engaged in welfare activities.

The details about the current schemes, being carried out in Mera Kachori and Chamkani union councils, were also presented whereas certificates and kits were awarded to those who got distinction in tailoring, welding, auto mechanic, auto- electrician and animal husbandry.—APP
