ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek has said that no decision has yet been taken regarding the dissolution of the national and provincial assemblies before time.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, the law minister said there is no danger to democracy in the country.

Naek said those people who are expressing concerns about alleged dangers to the system, are the only ones who can explain it.

He also said that Dr Tahirul Qadri's petition in the Supreme Court seeking a reconstitution of the Election Commission is his own personal initiative.

The law minister did say however that if the SC asked the view point of the govt on this issue, then they will present it in court.

Regarding another question, he said that he has not received a copy of the ECP's decision regarding a ban on government jobs. He said that he could only comment on the issue after getting the full details.

Naek said that the PPP believes in democracy and that general elections will be held on time.

He said that no decision has been made regarding seat adjustments for the elections with the PML-Q. The law minister stated that talks will continue on this issue in the coming days.
