ISLAMABAD, Feb 6: Federal Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir has said that road safety and traffic discipline are essential parts of urban life but unfortunately they have been neglected in the country.

Addressing a conference on ‘Road Safety: People’s Problems and Their Solutions’ here on Wednesday, he said drivers must follow traffic rules to avoid accidents and save human lives.

He said poor engineering behind construction of roads and their maintenance were main causes of accidents, adding that National Highways and Motorway Police department was trying to resolve issues relating to road safety.—Staff Correspondent
