QUETTA, Feb 3: The federal minister for privatisation and former chief minister of Balochistan, Jam Mohammad Yousuf, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Bela area of Lasbela district on Sunday.

Mr Yousuf suffered a heart attack on Saturday night at his home in Islamabad and died on way to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.

A C-130 plane brought the body to Karachi and from there it was taken to his hometown of Bela by a helicopter.

Pakistan Muslim League-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Balochistan PML-Q Secretary General Arbab Hashim and some other leaders of the party accompanied the coffin.

The funeral prayer offered at the Barra Bagh Bela graveyard was attended by thousands of people. Prominent among them were former speaker of Balochistan Assembly Mohammad Aslam Bhootani, former chief minister Naseer Mengal, Senator Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, Sindh Minister Nadir Magsi, Mir Asim Kurd, Akbar Lasi, Sardar Mehrullah Mengal, Senator Ismail Buledi, Mir Abdul Quddoos Bizenjo, Pir Abdul Qadir Gilani, and Jam Mir Kamal Khan, the son of Mr Yousuf. Mr Yousuf was laid to rest next to the grave of his father Jam Ghulam Qadir, the former chief minister of Balochistan.
