LAHORE, Jan 18: The efforts of top 2,014 candidates have resulted in a requirement of at least 79.091 per cent marks for admission to seven medical and dental colleges in the province.

The Punjab medical and dental colleges admission board was forced to include 2,014 rather than the planned 2,000 candidates in the merit list as each of the last 15 candidates had secured 79.091 per cent.

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) had declared the entry test results Friday midnight after giving 50 per cent weightage to marks obtained in the FSc and the entry test.

Ayesha Anwar (Roll No 1132) topped the merit list by securing 89.955 per cent marks followed by Faizan Mustafa (Roll No 5431) and Farah Afzal (Roll No 1029) with 89.909 per cent and 89.364 per cent marks, respectively.

A large number of students and their parents failed to find the merit list at King Edward Medical College early Saturday.

The KEMC management planned to put up the merit list after 2pm.

UET’s website www.uet.edu.pk was choked and the candidates continued to call newspapers offices for information about the results.
