BAHAWALPUR, Jan 17: MNA-elect Syed Tasneem Nawaz Gardezi is likely to join the ruling PML-Q.

Elected as an independent with the active support of District Nazim Tariq Cheema of PPP, Gardezi did get the PML-Q ticket before the NA-187 bypolls but he opted to remain independent to benefit from the PPP votebank.

Sources say Gardezi will announce his entry to the ruling party when he visits Lahore and meets Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.

The former federal minister, sources said, might also be included in the Jamali cabinet to give Bahawalpur representation on the central government.
