LITTLE donkeys are used to pull carts full of heavy loads, which is absolutely cruel. Their owners sit on the donkey-carts and keep beating the donkey with a cane or stick so that they move faster.
The poor animals are not given proper food or water while they are made to work hard day or night.
Their owners should make sure that the animals are not treated cruelly.

A week ago there was a news probably in this same paper that a dog fight was organised in Mansehra and various dogs participated from areas far as Punjab. The event attracted many spectators and there was a prize distribution ceremony.
All this couldn't had happened without the patronage of local administration and police. I was ashamed that such a cruel act happened. Isn't there anyone to take notice of this barbaric sport?

Till some years ago we used to see peoplein action from an organization called "Stop cruelty to animals" . Wonder whether this organization is still there in operation or has winded up due to no assistance from police or any govt deptt.

All life is precious and deserves a cruelty free existence. Anyone raising their voice against such cruelty is therefore to be commended.

I see the point there but there are so many people being killed on daily basis in Pakistan, get injured in bomb blasts, innocent people are rotting in jails. No one listens to them, no one cares about them. I wonder if donkeys' cries are going to register on the scale?

All people treat these poor and meek animals so mercilessly will die miserably. Also, be warned that all these people will be born again as donkeys and similar animals and will have to bear the same cruelty.

Its the callous nature of the humans that leads them to behave with cruelty and ignorance towards the weak creatures with whom they are 'forced' to share this planet and nothing can rectify this psychotic behaviour. Their intelligence is not recognised by most muslims hence, cruelty is deemed acceptable. They could learn something about treatment of fellow creatures from the Jains, who are deemed far ahead, since islam lacks in guidance where other beings are concerned. Have you heard about what they do to the bears? Its the Pakistani 'thing'.
