SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 24: A 22-year-old girl was kidnapped, raped and murdered by eight people, including two women, on Friday night.
Rani Bibi was kidnapped from Regal Chowk on Friday night by her neighbours Humayun, Azim, Mubasher Baloch, Mudassar Baloch, Makha, Niamat, Razia Bibi and Ruby alias Chanda.
Her mother Halima, who was accompanying her, made hectic efforts to trace her with the help of police the whole night but all in vain. Her naked body was found from near railway crossing early on Saturday morning.
Preliminary autopsy report confirmed that she was raped.
According to police a matrimonial dispute was motive behind the crime.
Meanwhile, residents of Jewanpura Khurd protested against the indecent incident and demanded early arrest of killers.
B-division police have registered a case but failed to arrest the accused.
BODIES FOUND: Bodies of a youth and a woman, unidentified so far, were recovered from different parts of the district on Saturday.
The body of a youth was recovered from Dhupsaree village in the jurisdiction of Safdarabad police station.
The body of a woman was found from fields in Babe Da Dera village. The body was spotted by some passers-by.
Both the bodies were sent to the city morgue for autopsy.
SUICIDE: A youth was admitted to hospital in precarious condition when he took poison to commit suicide in Jandiala Sher Khan on Saturday.
Mithu, 22, wanted to marry a girl of his choice. On receiving unfavourable response from her family, he became disappointed and took poison.
ACCIDENT: A man was killed while five others, including a woman, sustained injuries in two accidents on Saturday.
Brothers Rehmat Ali and Chiragh Din were going to Dhaban Singh by a motorcycle. A speeding bus knocked them near Phularwan chowk. They were removed to a nearby hospital where Chiragh Din, 55, succumbed to his injuries. Rehmat Ali was stated to be in precarious condition.
