NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Jan 16: A case has been filed against the Taluka Police Officer (TPO) in the district sessions court on charges of torture and robbery on Wednesday.
A man, Anwar Brohi, has filed a direct complaint against the Taluka Police Officer, Muzzaffar Hussain Kalwar, before the Magistrate Court-II, complaining that he was arrested by the TPO, Naushahro Feroze, from his house, who deprived him of Rs75,000 and beat him up.
Mr Brohi said a private person, Dhingano, had held his hands and the TPO had beaten him.
Later on, on the complaint of his relatives, the judicial magistrate, Mohammad Abbas Siyal, carried out a raid and he was released.
The judicial magistrate has transferred the case under section 17/3 of the Hudood Ordinance to the District Sessions Court, Naushahro Feroze. While, the doctors have issued medical certificate, confirming assault on Anwar Brohi.
Dr Mohammad Hashim Larik of the Civil Hospital, Naushahro Feroze, has filed an application before the district judge, Naushahro Feroze, complaining that the TPO was issuing threats for arresting him in a false case for issuing a medical certificate to Anwar Brohi.
